Colin MacInnes letters, 1954-1969.

The collection consists of two typed letters: to Clifford and Marcella, 30 Sept. 1954, a personal letter full of news of his activities, about which he seems bitter and uninvolved; to Robie Macauley of Playboy magazine, 27 Nov. 1969, conerning a request by Playboy for MacInnes to write a short story, a genre he disdains with great eloquence. He proposes to submit a story on the theme of the shortcomings of the short story as an art form, and suggests no commitment be made to publish the story until it is completed.
